It’s all the news not fit to print at Media Matters.
Recall that the leftist extremist group is headed by Hillary Clinton fanboy David Brock. In 2015 the Daily Caller headlined the Clinton-Brock relationship this way:
Media Matters Founder: We Defend Hillary Clinton!
The first paragraph put the relationship this way:
“Media Matters For America founder David Brock admitted Monday that his nonprofit, tax-exempt organization specifically defends Hillary Clinton, a political candidate for office, from Republican criticism.”
Which certainly explains why Media Matters, supposedly the follower of all things media, has a site that is strangely empty of this headline news from the other day at the Washington Post
Clinton campaign, DNC paid for research that led to Russia dossier
The story began this way:
“The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.
Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.
After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Elias and his law firm, Perkins Coie, retained the company in April 2016 on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the DNC. Before that agreement, Fusion GPS’s research into Trump was funded by an unknown Republican client during the GOP primary.
The Clinton campaign and the DNC, through the law firm, continued to fund Fusion GPS’s research through the end of October 2016, days before Election Day.”
All of which speaks for itself. But when one takes a look at the front page of the Media Matters site? My what a long list of topics. Sebastian Gorka, Tom Steyer, Maxine Waters, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Fox News and on and on.
What’s missing? Why the revelation by no less than the Washington Post, the liberal torch bearer in the nation’s capital, that it was none other than Hillary Clinton’s very own campaign, along with the DNC, that colluded with the Russians to get the dodgy dossier filled with falsehoods about Donald Trump. Uh-oh.
Nor is there any reference to the fact that Hillary herself has been strangely silent on the subject while the current and past chairs of the DNC deny any knowledge of the fact that money over which they had control was somehow, mysteriously, winding up in Russian bank accounts.
If they don’t know? Maybe David Brock does? Just asking. But one thing is for certain. Don’t look for a Media Matters investigation into what was going on with the Hillary campaign finances that paid for the dossier. That comes under the category of what Al Gore might call an inconvenient truth.
